A passionate and enthusiastic beatkeeper is required for a prestigious beat on the Raby Estate grouse moor. Working for one of the sporting tenants on the estate which operates across approximately 15,000 acres of land of which 9,000 are moorland which is split into 4 beats. The individual will be responsible for their moorland area in addition to some lowground focusing on wild pheasants and English partridges. They will be working as part of a team and in close conjunction with the headkeeper.
Duties will include habitat management covering heather cutting as well as rush control, predator control, grit distribution along with some infrastructure works. Machinery operation will be a key requirement for the role. The majority of the shooting is undertaken by the principals.
There is a well situated detached property with kennels and storage buildings available along with a pick-up and quad bike. Full clean driving licence, shotgun and firearms certificate and working dogs required. Attractive and competitive package available for the right candidate.
