GROUSE MOOR BEAT KEEPER, SPAUNTON, NORTH YORK MOORS

An excellent opportunity has become available to work withina supportive team and closely/reporting to the head keeper to deliver: 6-12 mainly driven grouse days; up to 20 small moor edge mainly pheasant days; looking after the in-hand moor flock of 300 Swaledale ewes to help the tick management programme on the moor; and general habitat and conservation work. Predator and pest management will be the primary year round role and good knowledge of this is essential. The job will include Seasonal prescribed burning/cutting, bracken/weed control, infrastructure maintenance and sheep work, etc. Full UK driving licence, shotgun/firearms certificates and minimum 2 years appropriate experience essential. Tractor driving and sheep experience useful but can be learnt/taught on the job. A ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a tight-knit team.Recently modernised 3 bed, 2 bathroom house with 4 kennels and competitive salary/package.
