Job description

To assist the head gardener in the walled garden at Kinnordy estate

2 days a week from April to October. Offering a fun environment to work in, and the opportunity to learn skills in horticulture. The position is suited to a senior horticulture student, retired gardener or domestic gardener looking to expand their knowledge

Duties include: -

· General maintenance duties: grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting and weeding as directed

· irrigation of garden and all pot grown stock

· production and harvest of fruit and vegetables

· assisting in the propagation of young plants

· To accept training and instruction to further skill set.

  • Understand the policy on Health and Safety and to ensure that all duties performed are carried out with full regard to the safety of visitors, contractors and other employees; work within the Health & Safety, COSHH, Risk Assessment guidelines always.
  • Undertake any other duty required under instruction of the head Gardener
  • Candidate Requirements

    Reliable, honest, punctual and hard working.
    Self-motivation and projecting a positive approach to work.
  • The successful candidate will have good communication skills, be a team player with a keen eye for attention to detail with the ability to understand and carry out instructions.
  • Some gardening knowledge.

· Someone local suits best.

· Ability to work in all weathers.

Rates of Pay to be decided based on experience. Flexibility on days is possible.
