Full-time Estate Worker / Ghillie / Boat Crew - Ref 1184

Camusrory Estate, West Coast of Scotland

Camusrory Estate

Full-time Estate Worker / Ghillie / Boat Crew

Camusrory is one of the wildest and most remote places in Britain. Situated at the head of a sea-loch on the West Coast of Scotland, it is 10 miles away from the nearest road; it has three Monroes on the property and is accessible only by boat from Mallaig. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, hard-working and responsible person, who is willing to learn new skills and live in a remote location, to join the small team on a full-time basis, reporting to the Estate Manager.

The job is as unique as the location. We maintain all our own infrastructure such as power generation, buildings and roads, and the staff need to be able to bring boats in and out of Mallaig, assist in deer control, and help inside the Lodge. We have a large fleet of boats, ranging from a 22m expedition yacht, through to a 10m RIB and a Cheetah workboat, as well as earth-moving equipment.

The range of skills required is unusually wide, and it is unlikely that anyone coming into this role will have all the required knowledge at the start, but we have a commitment to training our staff to high professional standards, be it on safety, operating and maintaining heavy equipment, handling boats, servicing generators or deer control.

This job is hard physical work, living year-round in a wild and isolated location.

Salary commensurate with experience and skills. Comfortable accommodation provided. Must have UK right-to-work.
