Estate Worker – Seasonal Role (Eilean Shona, West Coast of Scotland)

Location

Eilean Shona is a private island in the Hebrides with 8 self-catering cottages and a main house (with 9 bedrooms). Whilst an ‘in-land island’ and only a few minutes from the mainland by RIB, it is only accessible by sea, creating a sense of seclusion and ‘island life’. We are committed to running the island as sustainably as possible.

Position

We’re looking for a practical, hardworking Estate Worker to join our small team on the stunning Hebridean island of Eilean Shona. This is a live-in, seasonal role from end of October for 5 months.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with the care and maintenance of buildings, boats and equipment on the island• Repair tracks and paths across the estate• Perform routine groundskeeping and general property upkeep• Carry out repairs in the holiday cottages and main residence• Operate boats, quads and chainsaws safely and effectively• Tackle a variety of estate tasks – no two days are ever the same!

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has strong boat-handling skills and is confident on the water• Is physically fit and happy working outdoors in all weathers• Uses initiative and works well in a team• Is adaptable, practical, and willing to turn their hand to anything• Has the right to work in the UK

This is a rare opportunity to live and work in a remote, beautiful environment, supporting the running of a unique island estate through the winter season.
