Ardmarnoch Estate located near Tighnabruaich in Argyll and Bute is looking for a full time Estate Manager to take on the day to day management and maintenance duties of a busy rural Estate. Ardmarnoch is set in an idyllic location on the stunning coastline of Argyll, it is made up of let cottages, let and in-hand grazing ground, and a growing shoot.

The successful candidate will be expected to get involved in all of the above estate activities with day to day responsibilities including; contact for tenants, maintenance and repair of residential and agricultural properties, fencing, basic joinery, basic plumbing, basic roofing, basic masonry repairs, painting, grass cutting, weed spraying, tree planting and trimming, and general Estate tasks as required.

The Successful candidate must have extensive experience in working outdoors as well as experience in with the main trades. Candidate must be motivated, organised, flexible and polite, have a proven track record in sole-working, and must hold a current UK driving license.

Applicants should have appropriate chainsaw certificates, firearms licenses, spraying certificates, and trailer license. Ideally the candidate will also hold various appropriate qualifications/certificates in such things as ATV, tractor, digger, cherry picker operation, and any pest control or animal husbandry training would be suitable. A rural background would be preferred. Suitable training and PPE will be provided for this role.

This position comes with a competitive salary which is dependent on experience and qualifications. The role also comes with attractive accommodation where the successful applicant would be expected to reside full time.

In addition to this role there may also be the opportunity of another role for the successful candidate’s partner depending on their situation. This role would be focussed on the contact for tenants, management of Ardmarnoch House and to aid the estate manager in their duties. Day to day activities for this role would include liaison with tenants, housekeeping, grounds keeping, preparation of food, and various other activities that will likely vary from week to week. This role is flexible and the characteristics will only be defined on appointing a successful estate manager.
