Hooton Pagnell Estate is a family-owned and managed farming, hospitality, and property business. Located just outside South Elmsall, South Yorkshire, the Estate comprises approximately 2,500 acres and a mixed portfolio of residential and commercial properties. You would join our existing team to ensure all elements of the Estate are maintained to a high standard at all times.

The Role
We are seeking a self-motivated and energetic Estate Manager to assist with the day-to-day running of the Estate. This is a key role within the management team, overseeing a range of agricultural, commercial, and residential properties, and assisting with other Estate enterprises.

The position offers a wide variety of work across rural estate and property management, rural planning, landlord and tenant matters, grants, renewables, and more across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and rural properties.

Job Description
The role is varied and involves duties across all functions of the Estate, including:

• Estate maintenance, grounds work, and boundary upkeep.• General building and property maintenance.• Supporting other departments, including Hospitality and Farm operations.

The successful candidate will have relevant estate management experience and qualifications, and be organised, adaptable, discreet, reliable, and enthusiastic. They will be a supportive team player who can also work independently, with excellent communication skills.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hours or weekend duties.

Specific Duties

• Hands-on management of residential, commercial, and agricultural portfolios, including inspections, lettings, rent reviews, debt management, and tenancy matters.• Managing miscellaneous lettings such as allotments and pony paddocks.• Dealing with easements, wayleaves, public access, and rights of way.• Coordinating property maintenance, improvements, compliance, and health & safety matters.• Preparing planning applications, exploring grant funding for projects, and managing ongoing projects.• Monitoring third-party planning applications and restrictive covenants.• Assisting with insurance and valuation matters.• Responding to emergencies and contingency planning.• Acting as an ambassador for the Estate and the family.• Undertaking other reasonable duties as required.

Experience
We welcome applications from members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) with post-qualification experience in estate management, whether resident on an estate or company-based, and with an understanding of private client owners’ needs.

We also encourage applications from those with more limited but relevant experience; training and development will be actively supported.
