Estate Grounds Person - Ref 1799 Date: April 21, 2026

Surrounded by thousands of acres of stunning countryside, Thimbleby Estate lies in an idyllic rural setting within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated Estate Grounds Person to join our team on a full-time basis.

The main tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring all areas of the estate are kept clean and tidy

• General maintenance including strimming, chainsawing, painting, harrowing and rolling, drainage work, chopping wood, fencing repairs and path/road repairs

• Ensuring estate machinery is well-maintained

• Be constantly aware of safety and security across the estate

We are looking for the successful candidate to work 40 hours per week. Usual working hours are 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility.

The role will report directly to the Estate Owners. We are looking for someone with the following skills and qualities:

• Ability to work independently and use initiative in all-weather conditions

• Demonstrates positivity with an engaging and can do attitude

• Excellent time management

• Passionate about taking pride in your work, with attention to detail

• Self-motivated, with a flexible approach to work

• A driving licence, and a confident driver on rural tracks

• Proficiency in chainsaw operation and maintenance. A chainsaw operation certificate is preferred

• Experience of grass cutting and strimming

• Experience driving All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)

• Experience in using a digger and dumper is preferred

• Spraying certification is preferred
