Estate & Grounds Maintenance Role – Full-Time Opportunity

Location: ​​Private Estate, North Yorkshire

Accommodation: ​On-site apartment available if required

• An exciting and rare opportunity has become available to join the dedicated team working on one of England’s finest private gardens, set within a stunning private estate in North Yorkshire. Designed by renowned garden designer Tom Stuart-Smith, the gardens are a true showcase of horticultural excellence.

• Following the departure of a valued long-standing team member, we are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, and practically minded individual to help maintain and enhance our beautiful landscape, which includes formal gardens, rolling pastures, woodlands, equestrian facilities, and associated estate properties.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Thrives working outdoors in all weather conditions• Is physically fit, self-motivated, and demonstrates a mature approach to work• Has a positive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail• Can work well independently or as part of a professional and committed team• Has excellent timekeeping and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve a wide variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Grass and formal lawn cutting and care• Hedge cutting and pathway maintenance• Weed control (including use of herbicides)• Chainsaw work (storm damage clearance, small-scale woodland thinning)• Operating machinery such as tracked chipper, tractors, telehandlers, 360° excavator• Log processing and basic fencing repairs• Leaf blowing and collection

Qualifications Required and/or Proven Experience

• Use of hand and power tools• Full UK driving licence• Chainsaw certification• Chipper operation• Tractor driving experience• Telehandler certification• PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates• Excavator operation
