Estate/Farm Bookkeeper
Salary: £29,000
Hours: Full time 37.5hrs per week (Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm)
We are a well-established rural property management business, servicing clients in Herefordshire, Shropshire, surrounding counties and Wales. We have an exciting opportunity to join our clients accounts servicing team in our Hereford office.
The successful candidate will join a team of finance assistants managing their own portfolio of clients. This team is responsible for a range of accounting processes including sales & purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, VAT returnsand management reporting. Ideally the candidate will be AAT qualified or working towards qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain client’s sales ledger, to include monthly rent demand generation, receipting of rents & monitoring of aged debtors.• Maintain client’s purchase ledger, to include processing of invoices, preparing BACS payment & monitoring of aged creditors.• Monthly reconciliation of client’s bank accounts. • Prepare VAT returns (including Partial Exemption calculations). • Prepare monthly management reports for clients, including client statements and cash flow analysis. • Prepare annual accounts information to forward onto client’s accountants.
Requirements:
• AAT qualified.• Understand VAT and experience in VAT return submission.• Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.• Organised and able to work towards deadlines.• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.• Staying calm under pressure.• Good communication skills, both written and verbal. • Experience and ability in working within a team environment, while managing individual responsibilities effectively.• Excellent team player.• Competent IT user, to include Excel, Word, Outlook etc.• Willing to learn new in-house IT systems. • Absolute confidentiality of clients’ affairs.
