Frickley Estate is a family-run, rural working estate farmed in-hand, with parkland, arable land, woodland, rental properties and farm tenants.
This hands-on role is responsible for the security and caretaking of the private house, maintenance of gardens and estate properties, and working alongside the family and other estate employees.
The accommodation provided is a spacious three-bedroom first-floor flat, with its own garden and parking, located in the wing of Frickley Hall.
There is also the option for your partner to work either by supporting with domestic duties and/or, if qualified, assisting with book keeping / admin in the estate office.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Caretaker
• Live-in position
• Caring for the family dogs
• Ensuring the security of the house and responding to urgent issues
Grounds and Gardens
• Maintenance of lawns, hedges and gardening duties
Maintenance and Repairs
• Undertake day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs including basic plumbing, minor joinery, painting, decorating and general fixing
Estate Work
• Minor repairs to rental properties
• General fencing repairs
• Forestry maintenance including logging and basic chainsaw work
Compliance / Administration
• Supporting compliance with Health & Safety regulations and basic estate administration
Customer Service & Liaison
• Providing a friendly and professional point of contact when required
• Responding to requests from estate personnel and contractors
• Liaising with external contractors and overseeing works where appropriate

Partner Role (Optional)
Domestic Help
• Domestic help in the house (circa 15 hours per week)
Office Support
• Part-time book keeping / admin support in the Estate Office (circa 8 hours per week)

Person Specification
Essential
• Discretion and trustworthiness essential
• A “can-do” attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong practical and hands-on skills
• Full driving licence
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing a high-quality service
• Previous caretaking experience is preferable but not essential
