Cowhill Trust Estate is seeking a Woodland/Forestry worker to join a small, skilled team working to a high standard on a large private estate near Dumfries, South West Scotland.
The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of woodland, forestry and estate maintenance tasks, contributing to improving the estate as a whole for wildlife, conservation and sustainable land management.
Key Responsibilities will include:
• Woodland and hedge creation• Tree planting, thinning and felling• Chainsaw work• Tractor driving• Pruning and scrub cutting• Fencing• Log processing• General estate maintenance tasks
You will work closely with the rest of the team, taking pride in high-quality work and continually develop new practical skills.
Candidate Required Attributes:

Beneficial Skills (preferred but not all essential):
• Chainsaw operation• Tractor and telehandler driving experience• Tree felling experience• Tree planting experience
Training can be provided for the right candidate and there is also the opportunity for a team leader role.
Additional details:
• Full UK driving license essential• Full-time: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm• Starting salary £28,000 – £36,000 depending on experience• Self-employed candidates will also be considered
