We are looking to appoint a full-time Stockperson to work alongside the Grieve on an extensive sheep and cattle farm in the far North of Scotland. The farm covers around 50,000 acres and provides a stunning backdrop with hills, valleys and coastal views!
We run around 1,500 NCC ewes across three separate hirselsat Ousdale, Langwell and Braemore. We calve 100 Luing cows on the farm and experience with cattle and sheep is therefore essential.
The job is physically demanding, at times involving long days and covering long distances on foot.
The Farm compliments other aspects of the wider estate and although the farm staff only number two, there are ten other staff on the Estate covering a range of activities.
The successful applicant will have a desire and passion to spend time in the hill, a knowledge of working sheep dogs and a basic knowledge of tractor / forklift / ATV driving is essential, as well as a willingness and enthusiasm to learn more.
You will report directly to the Farm Grieve day to day.
A good house and kennel space for dogs will be available.
Training will be provided where needed.
Salary commensurate with experience.
