Property Maintenance Worker (Live-In)
Location: Farley Hill, Berkshire
Accommodation: 3-bedroom house
Position: Full-time, 8am–5pm Monday–Friday with out-of-hours emergency call-outs as required

Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience
Overview
A well-maintained mixed-use Estate comprising Grade I stately home, residential homes, commercial premises, agricultural buildings and livery yard is seeking a reliable, practical, and proactive Property Maintenance Assistant to live on site and support the day-to-day maintenance and smooth running of the Estate.
Working closely with the Deputy Estate Manager, the successful candidate will help ensure the Estate buildings, infrastructure, and surrounding environment are maintained to a consistently high standard.
This is a long-term position ideally suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and can build positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and the wider estate team.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out general maintenance and repairs across residential and commercial properties across the Estate including our Grade I stately home. All maintenance and repairs are to be carried out to a very high standard.
• Routine inspection of buildings, infrastructure, and estate facilities
• Basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and minor electrical works
• Maintenance of external areas including pathways, steps, car parks, and surrounding estate infrastructure
• Repairs to estate services including water lines, meters and related infrastructure where appropriate
• Cleaning and maintenance of gutters, drains, and rainwater systems
• Emergency call-outs and fault reporting
• Supervision and coordination of contractors, including assisting with sourcing quotes and overseeing works
• Supporting the development and upkeep of Estate buildings and facilities
• Key holding and site security oversight
• Liaison with tenants, owners, and managing representatives
• Monitoring maintenance supplies and reporting larger repair requirements
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable working environment across the Estate
• Ensuring all work complies with health and safety policies and current legislation
Ideal Candidate Will Have
• Proven experience in property maintenance, estate maintenance, or facilities management
• Experience of working with listed buildings
• Practical multi-trade skills and the ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• High standards of workmanship and strong attention to detail
• A friendly, professional manner with excellent communication skills
• High levels of reliability, trustworthiness, and discretion
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK
Highly Desirable
• Experience working on an estate, farm estate, business park, or similar multi-property environment
• Knowledge of basic building compliance and safety checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting etc.)
• Experience coordinating and supervising external contractors

• Heating supplied via the Estate biomass boiler system (included)
