Project Manager
Location: Islay Estates Company, Isle of Islay
Contract: Full-time, permanent
About Islay Estates An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Islay Estates team as a Project Manager. This is a full-time position, based on a busy and thriving Estate at the heart of the Island. Working closely with the Estate Manager across multiple areas including environmental/conservation, hotel/holiday lets, residential/commercial property, retail, and capital projects, agriculture and sporting, this is a diverse role suited to someone who is looking to gain deep experience of rural business management and island economies, with an emphasis on supporting and developing current projects. Businesses You’ll Be Involved In You’ll gain experience across a mix of estate businesses, including
• Agriculture, land management and sustainability helping with estate-related projects and improvements • Commercial property, supporting organisation and business processes.
• Energy and distillery partnerships, assisting with research and coordination.
• A busy retail shop, supporting stock-taking, organisation, and business improvement.
• A hotel and holiday lets, assisting with operational tasks and property development. Key Responsibilities
• Help implement efficiency improvements across different business areas.
• Assist with day-to-day operations, from keeping records to coordinating projects.
• Work on ad-hoc projects, such as setting up better systems or supporting estate events.
• Be a helping hand to senior staff, ensuring smooth running of key estate operations.
• Support with stock-taking, organisation, and admin tasks.
Who We're Looking For
• A recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years professional experience
. • Critical thinking and a can-do attitude with regards to working on a variety of tasks
• Instinct for value and financial
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Willingness to develop financial management skills, such as budgeting and cost controls
. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Comfortable with hands-on and desk-based tasks. What You’ll Gain
