Job Summary

Job Title – Maintenance and Grounds Keeper

Location – Crathorne, Yarm, North Yorkshire

Employment Basis – Full-time, permanent role

Salary – Competitive depending on experience

Accommodation – Available if required

The Estate

The Estate comprises approximately 3,000 of agricultural arable, grass and woodland and 40

residential dwellings just south of Yarm in North Yorkshire. The majority of the Estate is farmed

and managed in-hand.

The Estate is looking for a highly motivated, organised, and experienced individual with a

background in grounds and Estate maintenance to take up this unique role available on this

historic Estate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building repairs, grounds maintenance and

forestry as part of the Estate’s residential, commercial, and agricultural property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

1. Grounds and Estate Maintenance

• Carry out regular ground maintenance tasks across Estate locations including

mowing, strimming and weed control.

• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools such as lawn mowers,

strimmer, and leaf blowers.

• Undertake thinning/general maintenance of Estate forestry.

• Operate Estate tractor and other equipment, as necessary.

• Fence repairs.

2. Property Maintenance and Minor Works

• Undertake a range of property maintenance tasks.

• General Estate maintenance.

• Basic joinery and building repairs.

• Simple painting and decorating.

• Assist with fire safety checks and basic compliance tasks.

3. Tenant & Estate Support

• Work to high standards of professionalism and customer care when dealing with

tenants and property occupiers

• Ensure a positive and respectful approach when working in or around tenanted

properties

• Assist other Estate teams when required

Key Skills and Experience

• Practical, hands-on experience with property and grounds maintenance.

• A can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to varied tasks.

• Good communication skills and a respectful professional approach.

• Ability to follow instructions and delivery work to a high standard.

• Comfortable independently & working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Full driving licences (essential)

• Chainsaw

• Strimmer
