Head Stockperson – Dunsinnan Farm & Estate, Perthshire

Dunsinnan Farm & Estate is seeking an experienced Head Stockperson to take responsibility for the estate’s suckler beef herd while supporting the wider farm and estate operations.
The Estate operates a diversified and sustainable farming system, with livestock forming an important part of a wider land management strategy alongside arable, forestry, renewable energy and tourism enterprises.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong livestock management skills and good machinery experience. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operation of the beef enterprise, including feeding, bedding, calving, health planning and general husbandry, alongside grassland and forage management. They will be expected to develop and grow the livestock enterprise, with opportunities to expand through additional beef or sheep enterprises.
The role also includes operating tractors and machinery, machinery maintenance, fencing and general estate duties, and assisting with forestry and renewable energy operations where required.
The position offers long-term prospects within a diversified estate business, with opportunities to develop skills and responsibility and potential for career progression within the business.
Essential Requirements
• Proven experience managing suckler beef cattle• Strong stockmanship and livestock husbandry skills• Experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery• Telehandler licence• Mechanical aptitude and machinery maintenance skills• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for livestock performance• Full UK driving licence
