HEAD GROUSE KEEPER REQUIRED

Newbiggin & Hunstanworth Moors

A vacancy has arisen for a Headkeeper on the privately managed Newbiggin &

Hunstanworth Moors near Blanchland.

The moors extend to 5000 acres, can provide for 3 separate days shooting/beats

and have proven to be remarkably consistent over many years. In addition the estate

has 1700 acres of lowground and woodland. A small lowground shoot is operated in-

hand.

The successful applicant will be assisted by 2 existing experienced beat keepers.

The role encompasses all aspects of moorland management to include habitat

management, predator control, grit application, shoot day organisation, Health &

Safety compliance and infrastructure maintenance.

A good modernised detached 3 bedroom property with adjacent buildings and

kennels is provided alongside the usual suite of vehicles and machinery.
