Gardener / Grounds Person Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gardener / Grounds Person to join our existing small team, at a large Country House / Farm in Country Durham. The property comprises a historic mansion house, with associated formal gardens, kitchen garden and parklands, along with woodlands and agricultural land. The property is managed to an extremely high standard and we are seeking a motivated individual to work within a small gardening and maintenance team to maintain and develop these standards in all aspects of gardening and landscaping.

The Gardener will report to the Head Gardener, with responsibilities including:

- Use of Ride on/pedestrian mowers and associated lawncare

- Strimming

- Leaf blowing

- Hand weeding

- Maintaining veg/ornamental beds.

- Woodland maintenance and chainsaw work

- Driving / airport runs

Whilst we are seeking to speak to individuals with a relevant horticultural qualification, we are equally seeking to recruit the right person for our small team, so if you have some relevant landscaping / gardening experience and have a strong work ethic / are self motivated and wish to work in a fantastic environment, then we would be pleased to hear from you.

This is a full time position and some evening and weekend working will be required when the principle is in residence. A full driving licence is essential and whilst vocational qualifications are an advantage, are not essential as training will be provided. Please note that this is a physically demanding position and the successful applicant will be required to work across all areas of the property as required
