Job Title: Game Keeper
Location: Staffordshire
Contract: Full time, permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Start Date: ASAP – want to shoot 2026/2027 season
The Role
We are looking for an experienced head gamekeeper to work on a private shoot on a private
family estate. The Estate has been developed over generations for shooting and covers c. 2,000
acres. No shooting took place last season and a new generation is looking to start afresh.
Candidates should be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills and be experienced.
Key Responsibilities
• Running all aspects of game management (pheasant & partridge). To include feed,
environment management and disease prevention
• Predator & pest control in line with best practice and legal requirements
• Habitat management & conservation work, especially with a focus on increasing the
wild game population.
• Managing the shoot day
• Maintenance of equipment, vehicles, pens and estate infrastructure
• Supporting wider estate duties as required
• Monitoring and evaluating estate security
The ideal candidate
• A passion for shooting and conservation
• The ability to work independently and proactively.
• Good prior experience in gamekeeping, backed up by references
• Full driving licence
• Firearms and shotgun certificate
• Ability to work flexible hours
