An experienced Head Gamekeeper is sought for a prestigious commercial shoot in Southeast England.
The Estate is privately owned and run by a family who have invested significant time and energy into modernising and enhancing the wider estate and its sporting reputation.
Responsibilities include managing all aspects of the shoot, strategic planning for each season and for the future, staff management including an under-keeper as well as the beating/picking up team and overseeing the logistics of each shoot day. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced keeper who wishes to make their mark and help grow a reputable and well-supported shoot. The successful candidate will enhance and develop the shoot, taking full advantage of the Estate’s impressive topography.
The successful applicant will be a team player - personable, enthusiastic, and committed to maintaining the high standards of this successful commercial shoot, while working within the context of a diverse Estate with multiple other enterprises. You will work closely with the Estate team to maintain the shoot’s excellent reputation and deliver challenging sport for an established client base, while also being keen to seek ways to further enhance the business.

Responsibilities
Assisting with the management, care, and welfare of the birds
Vermin management
Maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and general shoot infrastructure
Organisation of deer stalking and deer management
Compliance with Estate Health & Safety policies and all relevant codes of conduct and good practice
Assisting with and implementing Estate security
Actively assisting with the running of a successful simulated shooting business
Any other tasks pertinent to the role
Required
Full UK driving licence
Valid Firearms and Shotgun Certificates
At least 5 years’ experience of gamekeeping, with experience running commercial shoot days of 300–600 birds
