Hooton Pagnell Estate is a family owned and managed farming, hospitality and property business. The Estate is located just outside South Elmsall, South Yorkshire and comprises of approximately 2,500ac and a mixed portfolio of residential and commercial properties. You would join our existing team ensuring that all elements of the Estate are kept to an acceptable standard at all times.

Job description:

The role is varied and involves duties across all functions of the Estate, including estate maintenance, grounds work, maintenance of boundaries and general building and property maintenance. The role will also aid other departments such as the gardens. The successful candidate will have experience in a range of maintenance and grounds services with relevant qualifications. You will also be well organised, adaptable, discreet, reliable and can work with enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment. In view of the varied content of the role, a background of having worked on a rural Estate would be helpful but is not essential. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.

We’re looking for an all-round hard-working passionate individual who:

Displays carpentry skills, a basic understanding of plumbing, painting and decorating, and a good practical understanding of property upkeep. To be able to support the maintenance team with proactive and reactive property repairs and maintenance across a wide range of property types, including residential dwellings, farm buildings and heritage assets. Able to keep grounds presentable including management of gutters, lawns, driveways, flagstones and gardens and who is happy to cutting, splitting and storing logs.

The individual will be a supportive team player, who is engaging, self-motivated and thrives in working with others but equally alone. Good communication skills are essential.

· Has a strong work ethic and is able to adapt to changing weather conditions.

· Demonstrates excellent timekeeping, flexibility and attention to detail.

· Uses initiative and carries out tasks unsupervised.

· Takes pride in their work.

· has an understanding of Basic vehicle maintenance

· Chainsaw, spraying and other relevant qualifications will strengthen the application.

· A full and clean driving licence.

· Hours: Full Time (40 per week)

· Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, inclusive of public and religious holidays
