Estate Worker - Ref 1185

We are seeking an experienced and practical estate worker with some game keepering experience to join their small team in Arun valley near Pulborough, West Sussex. to carry out a wide range of estate work. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend callouts.

The role is varied and requires a wide range of skills including::

• General estate maintenance including fencing, maintaining estate tracks, ditch clearance, hedge planting and some chainsaw work.
• Work with the estate owner to control vermin, keeper a small shoot and manage the local deer population.
• Display carpentry skills, a basic understanding of plumbing, painting, and decorating, fencing and a good practical understanding of property upkeep.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and happy to deal with members of the public.
• Works well alone and as part of a team.
• Has a strong work ethic and be able to adapt to changing weather conditions.
• Demonstrates excellent timekeeping, flexibility, and attention to detail.
• Uses initiative and carry out tasks unsupervised.
• Takes pride in their work.
• Chainsaw, spraying and other relevant qualifications will strengthen the application.

Full UK driving licence, Firearms / shotgun certificate is essential along with the relevant telehandler/ tractor experience as is knowledge on a range of grassland machinery.
