ESTATE HANDYMAN/WOMAN - Ref 1871 Date: July 24, 2026

Exciting opportunity for an Estate Handyman (or Handywoman) on a farming and sporting estate in Northumberland.

The estate includes several traditional properties, buildings, boundary walls requiring ongoing maintenance and repairs. We are looking for a practical individual with skills and experience in various trades (masonry experience is preferred) to work on and look after a variety of buildings and structures.

The successful applicant will work closely alongside / supporting the existing team but must also be capable of working unsupervised and as part of a wider team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a wide-ranging role which will involve

• General building, joinery, decoration works
• Stone masonry repairs and maintenance, including stone cutting, re-pointing, re-building etc
• Identifying, highlighting and reporting issues
• Undertaking repair works with pride and to a high standard
• Regular property inspections
• Effective communication with the office
• Coordinating and supervising external contractors

SKILLS:

• Relevant experience in a similar role or trade
• Practical knowledge of various repair and maintenance techniques
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• An attention for detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good housekeeping and time management skills
• Maintenance of equipment / tools / plant
• Health & Safety Awareness
• Clean valid driver’s license
