Estate gardener and ground maintenance - Ref 1539 Date: June 4, 2025

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a self motivated individual to join a wider team with sole responsibility for the gardens and grounds of a Grade 1 Listed Heritage property in Cumbria, along with wider maintenance and improvement of a 52 acre site, which includes mature, ancient woodland, maintenance of river banks and a unique network of paths and walkways within the grounds.

The position will involve general gardening, including grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, border and shrub maintenance and generally keeping the grounds tidy and to a high standard at all times, along with assisting the team with maintenance of other properties on the estate. There will also be an element of basic woodland and riverbank maintenance, so chainsaw experience is essential to this position.

This is a live in position and a very nice three bedroom property will be available for this role, along with use of a 4x4 for business use. The salary and package on offer are very attractive and will be reflective of the successful candidates experience and capabilities.

A full driving licence is an essential requirement for this position and preference may be given to candidates who hold tickets for chainsaw, spraying and ATV use, however full training will be provided for the right candidate.
