Beatkeeper/ Underkeeper - Ref 1764 Date: March 27, 2026

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Conservation Beatkeeper/ Underkeeper located on a Private North Norfolk Estate.

This is a full-time position and a multi skilled role which will involve carrying out general conservation duties alongside the already developed shoot, also maintaining the Estate and its natural surroundings to a very high standard.

We are looking for a self-motivated, trustworthy and conscientious person. Someone who is experienced in Conservation, Gamekeeping and General Estate Work would be beneficial. The role would suit someone who is happy to work on their own or as part of a team, managing their workload effectively, whilst also being able to take instruction.

The main purpose is to:

• Take care of the day-to-day maintenance and general enhancement of the Estate.
• Carry out General Conservation and Gamekeeping related duties/tasks

Hours:

• Full time. Minimum 40hrs a week. Weekend work will be required when necessary.

The duties will include but not limited to:

• General Conservation & Gamekeeping related tasks on the estate, also relating to the shooting infrastructure
• Maintaining the appearance & general upkeep of the Estate
• Pressure washing and cleaning of vehicles/plant and equipment
• Shoot Infrastructure & Equipment maintenance
• Estate Pest Control
• Waterways Management
• General Estate Security
• Repairing fences, fixing gates & carrying out general Estate repairs
• Forestry and Woodland management
• Cutting tracks and verges with a tractor
• Strimming
• Pesticide Spraying
• Using a Tractor, Telehandler, 360 Digger & Quadbike

The Person:

• Reliable, enthusiastic with a good work ethic
• Countryside and an outdoors type person interested in conservation
• A good team player with an easy to get along with personality
• Polite and well presented
• Passionate and willing to go the extra mile
• Happy to work outside in all weathers
• Physically fit, as there will be manual work
• Knowledgeable of Estate upkeep and Conservation
• Car License Holder
• Chainsaw Qualification beneficial, experience essential
• 360 Digger and Telehandler beneficial, experience essential
