Ben Alder Estate - Corrievarkie Beat

We are looking for a beat keeper with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to be responsible for the Corrievarkie beat of Ben Alder Estate. Corrievarkie extends to 5,500 acres with red deer stalking and walked up grouse. The candidate will be responsible for the beat producing 25-30 stags, 30-40 hinds and walked up grouse. We are looking for someone conscientious and highly motivated to carry out all the tasks associated with this role, always looking to improve the beat where possible.

Responsibilities -

· Stalking with Family & Guests

· Carrying out Deer Management Plan

· Winter Feeding program

· Vermin Control

· Gritting

· Muir burn

· Assisting with Estate Driven Days

· General estate maintenance

· Working with neighboring stakeholders

· Boat handling an advantage but not mandatory

Required for the role-

· Full UK driving license

· Firearms & Shotgun Certificates

· Own working dogs

· ATV Certificates

This is an excellent position for someone with a modern and forward-thinking approach to work alongside the Head Keeper and estate team to improve all aspects of the beat. An attractive renumeration package, 3-bedroom house and ongoing training are all provided with the position. Salary depending on experience. Start date from May 2005 onwards. Remote location.
