Beat keeper - Ref 1198

West Oxfordshire.

The position of beat keeper has become available on a prestigious 3,000 acre agricultural and sporting estate in West Oxfordshire.

This a private, family shoot where the key emphasis is on providing an exceptional quality of pheasant and partridge shooting within a beautifully maintained landscape.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ gamekeeping experience, ideally on a lowland sporting shoot. They will need to demonstrate strong potential for excellence in game husbandry and beat management, a passion for habitat enhancement, vermin control and game conservation best-practice, and enthusiasm in working closely with the farm, woodland and garden enterprises.

The successful applicant will be well presented, demonstrate a proactive, positive attitude and have excellent communication skills, able to network effectively with estate staff and the wider neighbourhood gamekeeping community.

Reliability, integrity and discretion will be critical attributes. The selected candidate will be expected to maintain the reputation of the estate in every aspect of their work.

Applicants should possess both shotgun and firearm certificates and a driving licence. Relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
