Beat Keeper - Ref 1801 Date: April 23, 2026

Gannochy Estate , Edzell, Angus


A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Beat Keeper on a mixed sporting estate in the Angus glens, widely known for its ability to produce Macnabs for its guests.

The successful applicant will be part of a team of two,responsible for managing a grouse moor with a focus on shooting grouse over pointers. In addition the job involves accompanying estate guests red deer stalking and salmon fishing during Summer/Autumn months and so a good knowledge od fishing and stalking will be advantageous.

A small number of pheasants are released to facilitate a winter rough shooting programme. To this end, the successful applicant will require experience of training and handling gundogs to an acceptable standard.

The successful applicant will have a personable manner andthe willingness to learn new skills under the direction of the Head Keeper is essential. Training in the use of estate machinery and in tasks required for general estate maintenance will be provided where necessary.

An attractive cottage with spacious outbuildings/workshop and kennels is provided, plus use of a 4wd for work. Salary iscommensurate with experience.

A driving licence and both shotgun and firearms certificates are essential to the role.
