Invermarkie Estate is an attractive, diverse estate situated in Aberdeenshire. Spanning agricultural holdings, forestry, river frontage, and a growing portfolio of high-end short-term holiday accommodation, the estate maintains a strong commitment to traditional field sports alongside sustainable land management and premium rural hospitality.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly self-motivated, and professional couple to take on the joint management of the estate. Together, you will oversee day-to-day estate operations, lead wildlife and land management activities, maintain high-end holiday let properties, and deliver an exceptional experience for staying guests and sporting visitors.
Role Overview
This joint position requires a balanced set of skills combining practical land, sporting, and maintenance expertise with high-grade hospitality, housekeeping, and administrative competence.
Role 1 (Estate Manager & Gamekeeper): Responsible for practical property and infrastructure maintenance, wildlife management, game bird releases, contractor supervision, and shoot-day logistics. Role 2 (Holiday Let & Hospitality Manager): Responsible for the end-to-end management, changeovers, housekeeping, guest communications, and administrative upkeep of the estate's holiday accommodation.Key Responsibilities
Role 1: Estate Manager & Gamekeeper
Property & Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform and oversee routine maintenance across all estate properties, tracks, fencing, game pens, bridges, boundary structures, and estate machinery. Game & Wildlife Management: Release pheasant, partridge, and duck stock, maintain feeding stations, and manage health and disease/predation risks. Deer Stalking & Pest Control: Manage deer populations, maintaining carcase hygiene standards. Implement lawful, humane pest control following Scottish legislation and SGA guidelines. Sporting & Event Logistics: Organise, host, and execute shoot days and occasional stalking outings for owners, family, and let guests. Arrange ghillies for fishing, supervise beaters and pickers-up, and enforce strict safety standards. Contractors & Compliance: Coordinate seasonal staff, manage external building/agricultural contractors, and keep detailed operational logs.Role 2: Holiday Let & Hospitality Manager
Housekeeping & Changeovers: Carry out hands-on, high-standard cleaning, laundry, bed-making, and deep cleans for all short-term let properties between guest stays. Guest Experience & Concierge: Handle guest check-ins/check-outs, welcome packs, local recommendations, and promptly address any guest enquiries or issues during their stay. Property Preparation: Ensure holiday units are fully stocked, immaculate, warm, and presented to a luxury standard prior to guest arrival. Administration & Operations: Manage booking calendars, inventory control (linens, cleaning supplies, guest amenities), coordinate maintenance requests with the Estate Manager, and assist with general estate admin where required. Catering / Hospitality Support (Optional): Provide light hosting or hamper preparation for sporting guests and estate let visitors as required.Candidate Profiles & Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
For the Estate Manager & Gamekeeper:
Proven experience in a single-handed/head gamekeeper or estate supervisor role. Valid UK Firearms & Shotgun Certificates. Full, clean UK Driving Licence. DSC1 (Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1) Trained Food Handler / Game Meat Hygiene Certificate. Chainsaw (CS30/CS31) and Tractor/Quad Bike Certificates. Fully trained working gun dogs.For the Holiday Let & Hospitality Manager:
Proven experience in high-end housekeeping, hospitality, hotel management, or holiday let operations. Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and presentation. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong organisational skills with basic computer literacy for managing booking systems and admin. Full UK Driving Licence.Shared Personal Attributes

Salary: Competitive salary with performance bonus (commensurate with experience).
