River Tyne



Allendale Estates require a Head Ghillie for the Bywell Beat on the Tyne.

As Head Ghillie the presentation of the beat to an exceptional standard will be a principal objective, ensuring excellent guest experiences. The successful candidate will be a good communicator who is both personable and knowledgeable. Applicants should have the experience and ability to ensure guests have a safe and enjoyable day on the river as well as being able to undertake estate maintenance to a high standard.

Essential Experience / Skills: Tidy and well presented with good organisational and management skills. Full, valid driving licence is essential. An ability to use a full range of ground maintenance machinery. The Head Ghillie must be able to ghillie for up to five rods but also work on their own when the focus is on riverbank and estates maintenance.

Useful but non-essential Skills / Experience: Qualified chainsaw operator, spray operator, first aid training. Vermin control, especially moles, an ability to drive a tractor and trailer on public roads. Knowledge of land and property maintenance.
