General Estate Worker / Groundsman

Start Date: TBC

Job Spec: · Woodland – chainsaw work for pruning, beating up and felling trees up to 18 inches in diameter. Use of a woodchipper to chip brash and scrub. Use of a MEWP for high pruning work. Use of a tractor. Tree planting and associated aftercare · Landscape / Parkland Management (to include grass cutting / hedge cutting etc) · Security – assist with managing security for public access, both unauthorised and authorised, as well as events · Access – maintaining permissive and public access routes across the Estate · Events – assisting with the preparation / operation and dismantling of events to include any which may be out of hours or on a weekend · Vehicles, Equipment and Machinery – basic maintenance, cleaning, and servicing · Fencing · Other – assisting with other Estate work as and when required

Working

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am until 4.30pm. 24 days holiday

Salary: Competitive salary dependant on experience

Ideal

candidate: · Full UK Driving Licence · Complete discretion · Approachable · Positive attitude · Trustworthy · Capable of working in all weathers · Strong customer care and communication skills and be able to manage multiple relationships · Ability to work independently using your initiative as well as within a team · Chainsaw certification (some but not all) – CS30.1, 30.2, 32, 31, 37, 34 and 35 · Tractor driving experience · Content with lone working · Ability to cross-cut, operate a winch on trees, take down hung up trees · ATV trained · MEWP trained (a good plus but not imperative)
