animal and grounds manager - Ref 1080

Avington Park is looking for an animal and grounds manager. Avington Park is a 300-acre estate near Winchester with a trout fishery, gardens and acres of grassland and woodland.

This exciting role will suit someone who has a broad set of skills in the countryside and a proven track record of experience.

Duties will include but not limited to

• Looking after a small amount of farm animals and trout on the estate’s fishery (experience in this is Key).
• Assisting with corporate fishing and clay pigeon shooting days and other events on the estate (flexibility on weekends is required)
• On job management of grounds team
• Tree, grass & woodland management, garden & estate maintenance (mowing/strimming/hedge cutting/landscaping/clearance), labouring tasks, landscaping projects, tractor, and trailer duties.
• general handyman tasks and carrying out ad-hoc tasks as required. It is desirable to have chainsaw tickets and certification for tasks such as spraying would be advantageous.

You must have good practical skills with a “can do” attitude, work well as part of a team and independently, competent with machinery and be physically fit. There will be scope for additional training and development to support you in your role.

30-35k Salary dependant on experience
